etymology
from PONS + -er (agent suffix, "one who"). the chain takes its name from the latin pons, pontis — "bridge." a ponser is therefore, in the oldest sense available, one of the bridge: a thing built to be crossed by others and to hold regardless.
the founding text is preserved in the urban dictionary: "to not belive [sic] you can do it but you still do it." the scholarship is imperfect. the definition is not.
